Jacobs’ Clyde Footbridge

Jacob’s Clyde Footbridge:

This project is one of our newer projects which can be delivered over 5 days. It is the result of the ExpLearn Scotland’s development of a current Masters program where students were asked to look at a concept design for a Footbridge over the Clyde. Jacob Consultant Engineers then further designed this concept as a project.

The participants create a  3 dimensional structure from 2 dimensional drawings by taking on functional roles within their construction company to deliver a
12m Footbridge with an impressive access ramp. Piled foundations are initially sunk with the pile caps also forming the foundations which are cast in concrete. 2 structural steel beams are located onto bolts prior to the composite deck being installed and concrete poured.
